Nutrition and lifestyle play a big part of the underlying causes of hair loss and scalp issues. Research has shown how nutrient deficiencies and or toxic levels of certain nutrients, such as vitamins A & D, omegas, and proteins, can compromise the structure and growth of the hair. Research now has also acknowledged the importance of gut health and its connection to the immune system, brain, nervous system, and immune system. Inflammation, whether it be in our joints, scalp, or hair follicle, stems from our gut health as well. Would you believe pityriasis (dandruff), psoriasis, and seborrheic dermatitis are also connected to gut health? Research has also shown this to be true. It is my belief that in addition to external factors lifestyle, diet, nutrient intake, and gut health needs to be addressed as well in order to achieve the best hair regrowth results possible.
