Do you suffer from hair loss or scalp discomfort? You may well have visited your GP or Dermatologist, and may have purchased over the counter products with limited or no success. (Please note that self-diagnosis and treating oneself  can be unreliable and may exacerbate some conditions. Delaying treatment in some cases could result in permanent hair damage or scarring which may have been avoided if established in time.)

Come in and let me help you figure out what is going on, the possible cause of the issue, and your treatment options. A Certified Trichologist is considered an expert in all types of hair loss, hair breakage, hair thinning, hair shaft defects, traction, damage due to weaving, androgen related hair loss in both men and women, scalp diseases such as eczema, dandruff, pityriasis, psoriasis which present symptoms such as dryness, irritation, inflammation, redness etc. As a Certified Trichologist and Cosmetologist (not a doctor) I do not diagnose conditions. I recognize signs and symptoms of the causes of hair and scalp disorders. 

Initial Full Trichological Consultation & Examination   $355*    A thorough consultation with a visual examination of the hair and scalp health. I dig deeper and educate you on all the possible factors and causes of your hair loss and or scalp condition that may be affecting you. I also discuss all the treatment options available to you. I take a holistic whole body wellness approach. I will offer you a natural alternative instead of harsh prescribed medicines. When relevant, current and past medical history will be discussed along with any test results you may have had done with your doctor, your medications, lifestyle, diet & nutrition, current stresses, past traumas, exercise routine and external environmental conditions. When needed, a trichoscope (a digital microscope) will be used to magnify 60X-700X, allowing us to see closer with more detail and view the health of the scalp, cuticle and hair bulb.

*An $95 deposit is required at time of booking for any Initial Full Consultation & Examination to secure your appointment time. This deposit will be used towards your consultation cost the day of your visit.

Follow-Up Appointment    $175    Recommended every 3-4 months after starting your hair regrowth program. Updated blood test results should be done before this appointment. You must have an Initial Full Trichological Consultation before qualifying for this service.

Virtual Follow Up Appointment $90 per 1/2 hour  Once you have done the in-person Initial Full Trichological Consultation, virtual consultations are an option. This appointment can be used to evaluate updated lab work, see what is working and what may not be giving us the results we are hoping for, discuss diet and nutrition, and of course answer questions. You may be asked to provide updated macro photos of your hair and/or scalp.

Polarized Microscopy Hair Analysis (PMHA) $195- IAHM Certified Polarized Microscopy Technician

Polarized light microscopy can help identify and diagnose a range of abnormalities of the hair, simply by examining the hair shaft and root under a microscope that uses polarized light. The analysis of the hair under a polarized light microscope entails the extraction of a few hairs (usually between 15 and 20) from the crown of the head. Analyzing the hair under a polarized light microscope can provide precious information on its structure, alterations, and life cycle and can help in diagnosing a number of congenital and acquired pathologies. From this test we will be able to calculate the average diameter and depth of the hair, percentage of anagen, catagen, telogen, pre-miniaturized and miniaturized hairs, digestive and nervous incidents, keratin detachments, damage from lactic acid and squalene, and disorders and damage of the hair shaft.

HairKnowHow offers a wide range of hair testing and analysis services, including Fibre Cortex Imaging, Hair Cuticle Imaging, Hair Room Bulb Imaging, Protein/Cuticle Loss Analysis, Colour and Gloss/Lustre Measurement, and more. Hair testing services can be ordered separately or combined to tailor the testing requirements to the client’s individual needs.

Scalp Exfoliation and detox   $115 This treatment helps to remove dandruff, scalp scaling, and soothe & heal the scalp using a gentle color-safe natural based salicylic acid scalp exfoliant.

Psoriasis treatment   $115     With this treatment I use a salicylic acid and sulphur cream to remove psoriasis plaque and alleviate discomfort.
